Statement Regarding Reopening Church New York City

Saturday, June 27, 2020
Date Of Release:

To all of our TORCC-NY members and visitors:

We are pleased to announce that in line with the governmental guidelines for Phase 2 reopening of the city and state of New York, we are now able to begin opening the doors of our church building again. Praise the Lord! He is faithful to His word and His promises! This is a much-anticipated day for all of us, as we have been bereft of fellowshipping and worshiping together for three months. As for the specifics of how we are permitted to gather at this phase, the federal court in Albany just ruled that Governor Cuomo and Mayor DiBlasio have to hold houses of worship to the same Phase 2 standards as small businesses, which are permitted to operate at 50% capacity, with social distancing rules in place. This means we will be permitted to have 50 congregants in the main sanctuary, ten musicians on stage, and five audio and video workers in the back office. Everyone who wishes to attend, even if they are serving on one of these teams, must register in advance, and will be checked in at the entrance to the church for Sunday service. A link where you can register to attend church is provided in the bullet points below. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In addition to Sunday services, the following church gatherings will also begin to resume next week:
