In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas continue the fish gate series by looking at the psychology of following Jesus. They stress that broken people serving can only create more brokenness, that healing and service can grow together, and that being a human being comes before being a human doing. Reading Matthew 4:19 in parts, they show that Peter had to stop following what he had followed, and that Jesus, not Peter, does the making. They discuss identity-based behavior, the belief behind every decision, and Peter's motive and method being off when he tried to make Jesus follow him. Jesus calls us out not merely of what we were doing but of who we thought we were. They also note that Peter's transformation began by spending time in Jesus' presence, and that Jesus' words I will make you are the anchor when we fail.
