In this episode, Dr. Robyn Kassas and Dr. Nathan Kassas explain why the Pool of Bethesda sits beside the sheep gate: healing comes before purpose, because the death of the old life does not automatically heal its damage. From John 5 they explore the meaning of Bethesda as house of mercy, the five porches as grace, and why Jesus, who created the water, stepped in Himself rather than waiting for it to be stirred. They discuss the excuses and coping systems the paralyzed man built, and the question of whether we want to be made well. They also explain the brain's autopilot, or default mode, and how coping can be mistaken for healing. They note that God is not killing you but killing what has been killing you, such as fear, shame, and rejection. The message: do not ask for the water; ask for Him.
